Demon Slayerz: Great Band, or Greatest Band?

Demon Slayerz was born out of the fiery depths of hell, Akron, Ohio. Like a Phoenix, they emerged from the ashes of the adult contemporary genre and ascended into the air riding on the back of a six winged flaming dragon of rock. Also, Lightning was present.
“We just knew it was right,” said front man Tony “Dragon Fury” Robins. “I mean, it was just like, 100% adrenaline pumping fury, right from the first sesh. No one saw it coming. We rocked so hard that I woke up on the floor with a concussion. I’m surprised my face was still fully intact after Kamakazi Molitov’s face melting licks.”
And Rock you did, Dragon Fury. Their first single “Corporate Demonz Turned off My Water and Electricity” brings it in a way only the Demon Slayerz can bring it: Hard and with serious ‘tude. “The first time I heard Dragon Fury’s riff for ‘Corporate Demonz’, I just started going with it,” Says back up vocalist/lead Keytarist, Brad “Kamakazi Molitov” Jones. “At the time, I knew it sounded good. But I didn’t think my solo could change the face of the music industry.”
“Kamakazi Molitov’s solo is paradoxically transcendent and elusive,” notes local late-nite radio personality ‘Crazy Steve’, who can be heard on Tuesdays from midnight until three on 88.3 WROX. “Its like, he woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and liked it. Total Badass. I haven’t been rocked that hard since STYX’s 86 Tour with REO Speedwagon”
When asked about the origins of his name, Kamakazi Molitov said, “Its just me, you know? An explosive, suicidal, Japanese fighter pilot who is down for whatever. Just as long as it rocks.” A local fan remembers Kamakazi’s wild side. “Yeah, I remember this one time after a show, this cop came up to Kamakazi and told him he left his lights on in the parking lot and might be needing a jump. He was like, ‘Whatever Pig’. I couldn’t believe my ears. How sick is that? Demon Slayyyyerzzz!!!” Clearly, Demon Slayerz isn’t just a band; It’s a way of life.
"Corporate Demonz Turned off My Water and Electricity" jumped to an unprecedented # 49, putting Akron on the map in the late-nite adult contemporary listening charts. Their next single, “YOU Should Pay Your Credit Card Bill”, is slated for release next month.

Acting Smart the New Cute?

by Cindy Martin
I’ve been under the impression for years that acting dumb was way cute. So I was floored by Paris’ Statement to Barbara Walters over the weekend that she was going to stop acting dumb because it's 'not cute'. I mean, puppies are like waaaaay cute and they aren’t that intelligent I don’t think. That kid from “Life Goes On” was super cute. Plus, anything small is cute: puppies, babies, horses, midgets. And they all don’t act ‘smart’. End of conversation.
Like I was saying, I was voted number two most popular girl in my school, which means I’m like super cute. I couldn’t tell you where Iraq is, but honestly, who cares? Trick question: No one. Everyone cares about Paris and the seriousness of her being in Jail. Just look at the front page of New York Times Online. And they know what’s important. You can’t have the princess of hotels locked up in some poorly lit, dingy cell with normal people. That’s ridiculous. She’s probably delirious at this point, hence why she’s saying crazy things like ‘acting dumb isn’t cute’.
Girls have been acting dumb for years to get attention from boys. Just the other day, I was driving to my friend’s place. I just got my license last month, btw This guy thought I was sooo cute that he was like yelling and shaking his fist and getting all red in the face. He said something about some sign with an arrow on it pointing the other way. Translation: I’m SUPER cute.
There are serious problems that could arise if Smart was Cute. If Paris started acting smart, it would like make smart hott. And if smart was hott, then everyone would start acting smart. Then there would be all these smart people and it would probably rip a hole in the ozone layer. And if the ozone layer disappears then the ice caps would melt and penguins would die. Penguins are sooooooo cute. Paris, unless you hate penguins, which you probably don’t because no one can really hate penguins, except maybe that guy that chases around Chilly Willy on Woody the Woodpecker, then you shouldn’t be saying ridiculous things like acting dumb isn’t cute. You will just kill penguins.

King Kong Ain't Got Shit On Me

by Godzilla
I was up late last night, nodding off and flipping through the channels when I came across a film called Training Day, starring one of my favorite actors Denzel Washington ( 'Zel, as us thirty story, Japanese scaring creatures like to call him). The movie was superbly acted and during one of the film's pivotal monologues, 'Zel exclaims, "King Kong Ain't Got Shit On Me!" 'Zel, I believe you are a hundred percent accurate in your statement and I will go one step further: I concur with you when I say that King Kong ain't got shit on me either.
I hate to break the unsaid rule against speaking out against creatures within your profession. I will admit that what King Kong has contributed to the world of wrecking entire cities and climbing buildings with a fistfuls of carnal pleasure is beyond reproach. However, I have to get it off my cold, scaly, strateum corneum: King Kong's head is getting too big.
Just because you make a movie with Jack Black doesn't mean you can blow off poker night with all the guys and go out clubbin' with Joey Lawrence. You weren't even friends with Joey three years ago. I don't want to even repeat what mothra said, so I will just leave it at this; you need to reconsider your actions, my friend. 'Zel got an offer to do a Jack Black movie, and you know what 'Zel did? He shot his bitch ass. Well, not exactly, but let's just say that they did not appear in any type of film together. On a sidenote, Joey's show lacks character motivation. Ok, i'm sorry, that was bitter and uncalled for. I'm just upset.
On top of it all, I heard from a friend that you were bragging about defeating me in the American version of Godzilla. You and I both know who would win, which was properly reflected in the original Japanese version. Please, King Kong, let's be honest. You ain't got shit on me.

American Board of Taste Representative Speaks Out: Mr. Pibb and Red Vines: Crazy Delicious?

by Michael O'Connor
Lazy Sunday, a music video short by Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg, offends my sensibilities by the very definition of the statement. I am outraged by their non-sensory and audacious portrayal of African American music (ie, 'Hip-Hop') and movie enthusiasts worldwide. They encourage drug use, profanity, gluttony, and all around debauchery. What's worse: they falsely proclaim that 'Mr Pibb + Red Vines = Crazy Delicious'.

Crazy Delicious should be a term reserved for only the finest of cuisines. A footlong bratwurst, topped in homemade kraut, might fit the bill. Or a hot slice of meatloaf, smothered in brown gravy. My wife's shepard's pie borders on crazy delicious, but I'll be frank; it isn't quite there. It would fall short, into the category of 'Absurd Delicious'. Point being, these standards aren't something that should be taken lightly.

Friends, I am not saying that these items in themselves do not meet the delicious threshold. I'll admit, albeit, the twenty three flavors packed into Dr. Pepper might even be called taste-a-licous. However, red licorice rope barely meets the delicious standard and has no contest with traditional black licorice. Like my father always used to say, 'Why refurbish it if it was never broken?' Of course, by it, I am referring to cogs in an industrial machine in an iron mill, which my father worked in, back in 1933. And Those cogs represent black licorice. Black Licorice was not broken.

Chris and Andy: your judgement of taste has clearly been affected by consumption of drugs. Therefore, as acting president of the American Board of Taste, your privileges of assessing taste are hereby revoked. You may no longer use the phrase 'Crazy-Delicious', under Section 6 sanctions of our bylaws. You have been forewarned.

In hindsight, I am unsure whether you were ever authorized to use them. To my knowledge, you are not official voting members of the American Board of Taste, which precludes use of the following terms: 'Crazy Delicious', 'Absurd Delicous', 'Silly Delicous', 'Taste-A-Licious', etc. A full list can be found in our bylaws. Gentlemen, get your act together, and lay off the narcotics.

My Pre-Teen Daughter is Much More Popular Than your Pre-Teen Daughter

by Susan Hamilton

As I was pulling my Mercedes SUV into the posh, organic market the other afternoon, I was overcome by sheer joy. As a mother, there are certain moments in your life in which you are overtaken by sheer emotion. They are powerful experiences; If memories were department stores, they would probably be Nordstrom’s during a Memorial Day sale. These are the moments that you will remember forever, moments that dreams are made of. For example, the first time you hold your child, nubile and innocent, as it takes its first breath. You look upon the perfection that you have created, with knowledge that you truly have produced a blonde haired, blue eyed, above average infant, who will eventually excel at private school, both socially and academically. And as a mother, who doesn’t remember exactly where they were when their children uttered their first word? I still remember what handbag I was carrying when my daughter opened her big blue eyes, looked up lovingly, and mumbled our Spanish babysitter’s name; “Rosalita”. It’s a joy that only a mother knows.

I had such a moment the other day. I was overcome with sheer joy when I realized that my pre-teen daughter is much more popular than your pre-teen daughter. Last month, my pre-teen daughter made the all-star traveling soccer team, was extended the lead role in Fredrick Middle School’s rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats”, and started a Spanish after school program. She also managed to get asked out to seventeen social functions: five birthday parties, seven sleep overs and five movie dates. That’s an average of 4.25 events a weekend!
Your pre-teen daughter, on the other hand, tried out for the Fredrick Middle School marching band and got offered to play the tuba. But it was only by default: she tried out for flute, but lost first chair to my daughter’s best and most popular friend, Eliza. Tuba was the only instrument left that wasn’t taken. No one, and I mean NO ONE, wants to play or be associated with anything involving a tuba.

The next order of business: Clothes. My daughter is at the height of pre-pubescent fashion; a regular juvenile J-Lo. A couple of key words being thrown around the FMS hallways concerning my daughter’s wardrobe: Trendy, Cool, Sassy, Hott (not the Stephanie Tanner version, the Paris Hilton version). ALL the boys in the yard want her milkshake. Your daughter on the other hand, shops at target. Enough said.

As much as I'd love to sit and keep chatting about how much more popular my pre-teen daughter is than your pre-teen daughter, my pre-teen daughter has a pool party to attend. I'm sure your in a rush as well. Oh wait: your pre-teen daughter wasn't invited. Well, Ta-Ta!
